Jury Trial for Felony Possession
October 2016 – Attorney Don A Hecker* tried a Felony Possession of Body Armor case in the 329th District of Wharton County. The range of punishment was 25 to 99 years and a fine of up to $10,000 due to prior convictions. Pretrial motions were filed and the judge surpressed the client’s statement that he possessed body armor. In trial, Mr. Hecker showed that the body armor was an extra small size and that his client weighed 250 pounds. He also showed that his client did not live at the address where the search warrant was served. The jury found the client NOT GUILTY. He was eternally happy as was his family.
